Veszelyite on Hemimorphite from Laochang Mine, Yunnan, China

Two of my miner’s friends had been lucky enough to have discovered recently, in late April, another very small pocket find of these world’s best Veszelyite crystals at the Laochang Mine in Yunnan, China.  It’s taken them almost a week to have excavated around a dozen specimens from the pocket, some of them were very difficult to reach because they were hidden in a narrow “tunnel” inside the pocket, according to the miners.  No other pocket or style comes close to the color and complexity of material from this locality, with the best colors and quality.
 
Hundreds of prismatic crystals of Veszelyite richly grown over a surface of tan matrix, some of them are Hemimorphite coated.  The color is a vivid sapphire-blue which formed a beautiful contrast of saturated turquoise-blue Hemimorphite, and in a generous quantity.  Such association was found in scarcity, few specimens featured complex growth and combinations like this, and had both species in good color and quality.  Comes with a high quality copper-wired display stand.
