Locality: Wushan Mine, Tongbei, Yunxiao Co., Zhangzhou Prefecture, Fujian Province, China

A stunning miniature specimen of gem quality Spessartine Garnets on Smoky Quartz from the famed Wushan Mine of China. In a striking cinnamon-orange color, the sparkly Garnets grown on all facets of the Smoky Quartz, impressive! The Smoky Quartz is exceedingly lustrous and is perfectly terminated.  Comes with a high quality acrylic display box.

The first specimens of Chinese garnet associated with smoky quartz and feldspar start appearing in the market in 1998. After many years of plentiful specimens, this locality has pretty much been depleted and had been shut down by the Chinese government many years ago. Spessartine Garnet Specimens from the Wushan Mine are now one of the most sort after pieces in the world and the price has already increased in multiples at the source. I can no longer acquire new pieces and these are those that I'd acquired in 2006, until stock last.
