Weight: 1064g
Locality: Rahuri, Ahmednagar District, Maharashtra, India
Excavated in April 2020, this is a museum quality large cabinet specimen from India measuring 14.9cm across! A huge, perfect sphere of creamy white acicular crystals of Scolecite (a member of Zeolite family) resembling a peon flower in full bloom beautifully perched onto a Basalt matrix. The Scolecite “flower” is further accented with peachy orange Stilbite crystals on the sides of the piece. The gigantic size, perfection and aesthetics make this a very rare species from anywhere. I was stunned when I first saw it, it’s so 3 dimentional and displays super well from all angles. This is the finest quality Indian Scolecite specimen that is especially attractive, a total surprise that you’d see occasionally turn up in old collections. Comes with a high quality copper wired display stand as pictured.
