A beautiful cluster of elongated, double-terminated Quartz var. Herkimer Diamond with the signature 18 facets, beautiful inclusions and is highly transparent.  One smaller DT Quartz crystal interlinked with the larger Quartz in the form resembling "Japan law twin".  The first discoveries were made in the Middleville village and in the city of Little Falls in the late 18th century and soon became widely recognized.  This is a complete 100% natural crystal with no polishing, the beautiful facets are naturally formed, unlike most of the fake Herkimer Diamonds in the market perfectly polished into 18 faces.  
 
These are all from a good lot acquired by my father at least 20 years ago, when he visited the States for business.  It is impossible to buy top quality pieces of this locale from the mineral market nowadays.
