A sharp and eye-catching cluster of Pyrite with beautiful and rare Hübnerite intergrowth, from a January 2021 find in the Huanzala Mine of Peru. Traces of Quartz can be observed on the surface of the Hübnerite crystals. Some of the Hübnerite crystals are prismatic and striated, others occurred as grainy aggregates. The Pyrite octahedrons are slightly modified with flattened terminations, they are highly lustrous with a metallic platinum-gold color. Peruvian Pyrites especially the good quality specimen-graded pieces are very desirable on the market and this specimen has it all – great lustre, contrasting color combination and rarity.
