Collector’s Piece: Pyrite on Quartz with Rare Hubeite from Fengjiashan Mine

A complete floater specimen featuring impressive spherical aggregates of Pyrite crystals perched on a double terminated Quartz crystal.  Acquired in around 2012 from the famous Fenjiashan Mine (Daye Copper Mine) in China, the Quartz cluster is associated with traces of very rare Hubeite crystals on the back, giving it a reddish brown tinting.  The centerpiece of this dramatic old time materials is a very attractive, almost completely isolated ball of Pyrite aggregate.  The brassy gold Pyrite crystals are highly lustrous and are striated, impressive!  The specimen will be beautifully set in a high quality acrylic display box.
