Locality: Mashamba West Mine, Kolwezi mining district, Lualaba, DR Congo
This is an absolute fine combination of Chrysocolla pseudomorph after botryoidal Malachite from a 2014’s old time find at the Mashamba West Mine of the DR Congo. Banded, botryoidal green Malachite formed initially on the tan matrix with beautiful, bright power-blue Chrysocolla deposited on the surfaces taking the botryoidal form of the Malachite, it’s incredible! The silky green Malachite and the rough uneven Chrysocolla resulting in a fine looking, multicolored and multitextured, what a piece of art from the mother nature! Over the years, the Mashamba West Mine has produced many great specimens of these two minerals and this very colorful piece is for sure an exceptionally fine combination specimen from this old mine. Comes with a high quality copper-wired display stand.
