Gemmy Turquoise Blue Brochantite, Gypsum and Dolomite Crystals on Matrix Specime
Dimension: 7.3cm x 5cm x 3.2cm
Locality: Touissit, Touissit-Bou Beker District, Jerada Province, L'oriental Region, Morocco
A very lustrous and colorful specimen of gemmy Gypsum crystals covering Brochantite spheres on a matrix of Ferrara’s Dolomite from Morocco. This specimen features a nice matrix of reddish-brown Ferroan Dolomite which is hosting a large turquoise blue Brochantite crystal meansures 2.1 cm in length. There is a thin layer of glass-clear Selenite crystals coating some of the Dolomite, creating a sparkly effect and contrasting nicely against the rugged geography of the Dolomite.
A really showy display piece and rare as the mines operated by the Compagnie Minière de Touissit shut down in 2002.
The striking turquoise blue colour is so beautiful to look at, it is truely a collector’s piece!!
