A very lustrous and colorful specimen of gemmy Gypsum wrapped Brochantite spheres on a matrix of Ferroan Dolomite from Morocco. Mines operated by the Compagnie Minière de Touissit were shut down in 2002 so pieces like this are uncommon in the minerals market now.j
This specimen features a nice matrix of reddish-brown Ferroan Dolomite which is hosting a large turquoise blue Brochantite crystal meansures 2.1 cm in length. A thin layer of glass-clear Gypsum var. Selenite finely coated some surfaces of the Dolomite, creating a sparkly effect and contrasts nicely against the rugged geography of the Dolomite.
