Inky Blue Fluorite on Milky Quartz from Huanggang Mine, Inner Mongolia
Dimension: 9.6cm x 8.8cm x 2.8cm
Weight: 188g
Locality: Huanggang Fe-Sn deposit, Hexigten Banner, Ulanhad League, Inner Mongolia, China
A beautiful specimen features inky blue Fluorite crystals aesthetically grown on a Milky Quartz crystal matrix, very three dimensional and showy. The Fluorite crystals exhibit interesting and complex intergrown morphology – they are cubic with dodecahedral modifications showing an unusual curvature to the crystal edges and faces. The surfaces of the Fluorite crystals display a velvety luster. Specimens of this kind were once a ‘wow’ factor in the Tucson show 2015. This is one of the best clusters from the find with striking color contrast as against the creamy white to pale yellow Milky Quartz, so stunning!
