Fluorite from Youxi Co., China

A complete floater and a large cabinet specimen as mineral as art!  This one-of-a-kind Fluorite piece mined in around 2015 in Youxi Co. of China displays an attractive vivid emerald-green color and the crystals are so gemmy.  Some Fluorite crystals from this small find have fully grown to display pyramid shape and are commonly called the “Aztec pyramid”.  Intergrown with a plate of Quartz in a creamy yellow color, the cubic Fluorite exhibits stepped growths, forming complex and interesting crystals – see the microscopic photos in the gallery.  As a bonus, the Fluorite displays a bright blue fluorescence under longwave UV lighting 365nm.  Comes with a high quality copper-wired display stand.

Fluorite's Maintenance Advice:
 
Fluorite is extremely susceptible to sunlight, some colors fade slower than others, but they all fade under sunlight. The effect also happens under normal halogen light. Therefore keep Fluorite in a darker part of the home, away from direct sunlight unless it needs to be cleansed and charged.
