A stunning DT Phantom Quartz crystal came from one of the premier mineral localities in the world – the Yaogangxian Mine in China.  Mined in 2008, the sharp, perfectly double-terminated Quartz crystal which display a highly visible “pyramid” phantom at one end is exceptional!  It is highly lustrous, gemmy and is Epidote tinted and included.  The fine green Epidote intergrowth ascend the beauty and texture of the piece, resembling a patch of nice green grass.  The distinct phantom of the Quartz that is quite apparent when viewing from various vantage points, enhancing the great geometric effects of the crystals.  Complementing the Epidote are some beautiful “flowers” of Calcite crystals that are fluorescent to longwave UV lighting 365nm, miraculous!  This outstanding and very unique specimen looks great on the high quality copper-wired display stand comes with the package.

Yaogangxian Mine produces some of the world's top quality Fluorite specimens and the area had already been shut down for mining for years. Specimens from this locality are now very sort after by mineral collectors around the world. I can no longer acquire new Yaogangxian specimens from the source because the price has tripled. Luckily we had acquired a decent quantity of the best pieces back in 2004-2005, some of them had been kept as my father’s personal Yaogangxian collections. I highly recommend everyone to at least collect one Yaogangxian piece because this locality is just too remarkable and important.
