A large cabinet specimen from a special pocket of January 2021, of cubic Fluorite on a plate of crystalline Quartz. Several deep purple Fluorite crystals nicely arranged with the largest Fluorite cubes measuring 2.8cm x 2.6cm and 2.5cm x 2.5cm respectively. The sharp contrast and isolation make this notable and a very special piece, only a few pieces were found. The Fluorite crystals are basically “floating” on the cream colored Quartz crystals matrix and they are exceedingly lustrous. It displays two generations growth whereas the deep purple center formed first, followed by a second layer of colorless Fluorite formation. This is one of the best pieces of the small lot, it’s so nicely arranged and the rarity make this a fine specimen. Comes with a high quality copper-wired display stand.
Fluorite's Maintenance Advice:
Fluorite is extremely susceptible to sunlight, some colours fade slower than others, but they all fade under sunlight. The effect also happens under normal halogen light. Therefore keep Fluorite in a darker part of the home and away from direct sunlight.
