Locality: Xia Yang Mine, Xia Yang city, Yongchun Co., Quanzhou, Fujian, China
From a one-time small pocket find at Xia Yang Mine in December 2020, this is a superb cluster of gemmy, octahedral crystals of Fluorite to 9cm in length. Lined with druzy Quartz crystals, the sharp intergrown Fluorites create their own “mountain range” in a desirable deep purple color, mesmerizing! The aesthetics of this piece are enhanced by the crystal’s distinct cleavage marks on the surface. Gemmy purple zoning in the center along with outer colorless zoning makes the crystals very one-of-a-kind and dramatic to the eye. An added bonus is the presence of tiny Quartz crystal points intergrown like “flowers” and it is a complete floater specimen, pristine and perfect! The Fluorite crystals exhibit a bright purple-blue fluorescence under UV lighting 365nm. Specimens like this have not come out before and are very limited, the Fluorite crystals are of gem quality and notably well-formed. Comes with a high quality copper-wired display stand.
