Look at the internal brilliance and rainbow iridescence of the Calcite, it’s mesmerizing! The came out in the early 1980s from this world-renowned Daye Copper Mine, the Calcite crystals are extremely sharp and are exceedingly lustrous. The pink color is because of red Hematite inclusions and it has a bright pinkish-red fluorescence under UV lighting (365 nm). The matrix displays olive-green Chlorite inclusions, adding real pizzazz to the piece. This magnificent, gem quality of Dogtooth Calcite is complete-all-around, I have seen similar ones on the market here and there, but few of this caliber turn up for sale for a long time. Purchased by my father and this small deposit of around 40 years ago was quickly depleted and these are all but impossible to find anymore. It is way more beautiful in person than photos. Comes with a high quality acrylic display box.
