Collector’s Piece: Hedenbergite Included Quartz (Prase Quartz), Huanggang Mine
Dimension: 10.1cm x 7.1cm x 6.5cm
Locality: Huanggang Fe-Sn deposit, Hexigten Banner, Ulanhad League, Inner Mongolia, China
A top quality large cabinet specimen of diverging, slightly dipyramidal terminated Quartz crystals included with green Hedenbergite from the world class Huanggang Mine, Inner Mongolia, China. The Quartz crystals rest on a matrix that is essentially Feldspar and metallic black Hematite microcrystals. This is a very aesthetic and perfect specimen with all Quartz points intact and incredibly 3-dimentional. The prismatic faces appear to have secondary growth of sparkly micro Quartz crystals, some of them have intergrown to form botryoidal aggregates, adding uniqueness and rarity to the piece, fantastic! Hedenbergite included Quartz from Mongolia are the most beautiful of their kind, it is very unusual to have an undamaged piece, this perfect example speaks for its kind for sure. I collected this in August 2016 directly from the source and nothing like this has come since. This is a well-balanced and outstanding piece with a high quality copper-wired display stand to best show it off.
