A very precious gem Scheelite cluster which has many faces and terminations.  Excavated in 2015 from the pristine locality of Mount. Xueboarding in the Pingwu Co. of China, this classic Scheelite crystals aggregate is extremely gemmy and glassy.  It looks so impressive and has an amazing display angle that shows the superb terminations and the naturally facetted faces.  The color is a beautiful intense toffee-orange, contrasting nicely against the metallic-silver colored, bladed crystals of Muscovite on the underside of the piece, so stunning!  It is complete all around and is an excellent representative Scheelite from this important locality.  Comes with a high quality copper-wired display stand.

Scheelite from Mount Xuebaoding in Sichuan Province has been recognized as the world's best and the finest specimens are always sold at auctions.  Scheelite is named after Swedish chemist and amateur mineralogist Carl Wilhelm Scheele, who discovered the element Tungsten from Scheelite-Tungsten comes from two Swedish words, "tung" meaning heavy and "sten" meaning stone or rock.
