Collector’s Piece: Bi-color Fluorite from Xinyang, Henan, China

These gorgeous stacked pyramids of Fluorite crystals which exhibit breathtaking and complex stepped growth have to be among my favorite new finds of 2017 in Xinyang of China.  If you didn’t look closer you would have thought they’re Fluorite with botryoidal growth, how amazing!  Some gemmy and superb emerald green Fluorite crystals intergrown and interlinked to form this amazing large cabinet specimen measuring 11.1cm across.  On top of that there is a striking secondary growth of Fluorite crystals in yellow color which add ultra aesthetics and contrasts to the piece, outstanding!  The supply of these beauties has been proven to be very limited over the years.  The Fluorite crystals display a bright purple-blue fluorescence under UV lighting 365nm.  Comes with a high quality copper-wired display stand.

Fluorite's Maintenance Advice:
 
Fluorite is extremely susceptible to sunlight, some colors fade slower than others, but they all fade under sunlight. The effect also happens under normal halogen light. Therefore keep Fluorite in a darker part of the home, away from direct sunlight unless it needs to be cleansed and charged. To cleanse and charge Fluorite, just pop it on a windowsill out of direct sunlight or even on a cloudy day for 10 minutes. If it doesn't feel like that is enough, you can use reiki or sound too.
