Ruby-red Spessartine Garnet crystals aesthetically set on discs of Calcite, artfully “decorated” this dramatic Chlorite-included Quartz cluster from the Gilgit-Baltistan of Pakistan. Alpine-type Quartz specimens from this area are highly sought after amongst fine mineral collectors and this is just EXCEPTIONAL and one-of-a-kind! The Quartz points are brilliantly lustrous and are Chlorite-rich, the zoned green phantoms are particularly attractive. They have double terminations with the largest two Quartz points measuring 12cm and 9.1cm in length respectively, outstanding! No specimens of this quality and combinations have come from this Pakistan locality before, this is the first discovery of the species. Excavated in August 2020, this is a complete floater measuring 20.1cm wide, magnificent! The white discs of Calcite display an orange-pink fluorescence under UV lighting 365nm. This piece is way more beautiful in person, the arrangements are dramatic and very 3-dimensional! Comes with an extra large high quality copper-wired display stand.

The Gilgit-Baltistan of Pakistan has gained a prominent position in the world market for supplying a wide variety of precious gemstones and mineral specimens. It is composed of three snow-covered mountain ranges, being the Himalaya, Karakoram and Hindu Kush. They were formed millions years ago as a result of the collisions between India and Asia which created a unique geological setting in the world. And these geological processes have produced a distinctive mineral kingdom within the Gilgit-Baltistan in Pakistan.
