A truly dazzling and really eye-catching small cabinet specimen featuring a coverage of lustrous, compressed silvery / smoky colored Calcite scalenohedra which have a gorgeous selective deposition of sparkling, brassy gold Chalcopyrite on select corners and edges of the pyramidal faces of the disc-shaped Calcite and surprisingly centered the “Calcite Flowers” in places. The Calcite are lightly striated as highlighted by a dusting of micro-Chalcopyrite crystals. The specimen is from an exclusive new October 2020 discovery in Daye Copper Mine of China. The quality and peculiarity of the piece make it a very desirable and unique display specimen that would make a wonderful addition to any Chinese or worldwide Calcite collection.
