Chalcopyrite on Calcite from Daye Copper Mine, China
Dimension: 3.4cm x 3.1cm x 2.2cm
Weight: 26g / 143 carat
Locality: Tonglushan Mine, Daye Co., Huangshi Prefecture, Hubei Province, China
A new species discovered in a small December 2020 find from the world-class locale of the Daye Copper Mine in China. I only have a few to offer as only a few of these beautiful pieces were found. They look like gorgeous gold “buttons” naturally Chalcopyrite-studded by the mother nature, fantastic! Brassy gold crystals of Chalcopyrite artfully “sprinkled” on a group of Calcite discs stacked together similar to a stalagmite. The overall aspect of the color gradation and the mineral combinations add to its uniqueness and aesthetics. This is a fine specimen that happens to be a miniature and it stands out dramatically. Comes with a high quality acrylic display box.
