Collector’s Piece: Chalcopyrite on Hematite Included Calcite from Daye Co, China

This is an old Daye materials acquired by my father back in the late 1990s, species of the same cannot be found on the mineral market anymore.  Slightly elongated interlocking Calcite interlinked to form a mounded, three dimensional specimen, with gold colored Chalcopyrite highlights that produce fantastic visual effect and contrasting colors, magnificent!  The silver/grey color of the Calcite is due to Hematite inclusion.  Fine dusting of Chalcopyrite micro crystals adds subtle shimmers, beautifully accenting the piece for a complex effect, artfully.  As a bonus, the Calcite display a medium orange color under longwave UV lighting 365nm.  This is an absolute classic old time materials rarely seen for sale over decades.  Comes with a high quality copper-wired display stand.
