Gorgeous Calcite scalenohedrons aesthetically drape over a cluster of Fluorite octaherons which are sharp and thinly “frosted” by micro crystals of Quartz. This one-time-find of sharp octahedral Fluorite of 2012-13 is known to many collectors and dealers in the mineral world as the treasure of China, they range from purple to a combination of purple and green hues. The mining is finished (of course!) and this very special and unique specimen is from previous stockpile. According to my father, only a few of this Calcite and Fluorite combination pieces were found from this mine and I only have two pieces to offer, both are equally beautiful. This masterpiece is rich with robust, deep lavender-purple Fluorite crystals associated with typical starkly contrasting crystals of lustrous Calcite scalenohedrons. It glows amazing under longwave UV lighting 365nm – Calcite in pink and Fluorite in blue! An exceptionally rare old material of which the contrasts of color and symmetry are just mesmerizing. For added aesthetics, tiny Quartz crystals clustered in spherical shape and brassy Chalcopyrite intergrowth are observed on the back of the piece. Comes with a high quality metal display stand.
