A gorgeous specimen of Beryl var. Emerald in a Quartz from Dayakou Emerald Mine in Yunnan, China.  Several prismatic hexagonal, slightly striated crystals of Emerald are embedded in the Quartz matrix which display medium to intense emerald-green color and high luster.  Emerald in this example also occurs in massive aggregates of a rather generous proportion. It stands perfectly on its own and displays beautifully 180 degree, outstanding!
