Collector’s Piece: Azurite on Fluorite and Quartz from Dongchuan Mine, China

This is an extremely rare Chinese treasure that we’d only seen 3 examples came out from the Dongchuan mine in May and June 2021, and this is a complete floater.  We all know that these new Azurite and Quartz combo specimens WOW the mineral collecting world, what most people don’t know is that Fluorite intergrowth was found.  Hundreds of bright royal blue, gemmy Azurite crystals fully loaded on a Quartz matrix, they are exceedingly sparkly and glitter like stars, it’s incredibly beautiful!  The matrix is composed of many double-terminated Quartz points, they are perfectly terminated and are transparent, amazing!  A relatively big cube of transparent Fluorite are presented right in the front of the piece, decorated by green Malachite micro crystals, ascending beauty and colors.  This is definitely a very showy and rare miniature specimen of the 2020 pocket, it is complex in structure and good in quality from this deposit that we’ve seen.  Obtained directly from the miner’s home on-site, this is not only a fine specimen but also an outstanding combination rarity of mineral history, from time and place.  The piece will be beautifully set in a high quality acrylic box especially made for displaying specimen.
