Malachite and Goethite on Azurite from Sepon Mine, Laos
Dimension: 6.4cm x 5cm x 3cm
Weight: 62g
Locality: Khanong open pit, Sepon Mine, Vilabouly District, Savannakhet Province, Laos
An exquisite specimen of deep royal blue Azurite with a natural accent of bright grass-green Fibrous Malachite, is from a 2016 find at the Sepon Mine in Laos. The color combinations are one of the best I’ve seen and the piece displays two types of shimmering, velvety Malachite – fibrous and Cat’s Eyes. It resembles a fine Malachite embroidery on a carpet of Azurite, really stunning. The Azurite crystals are very sparkly and they are highly crystalized. Some tiny crystals of deep brown Goethite sparsely scattered on the Azurite, adding aesthetics to the piece, outstanding! It has just enough accent of a contrasting green and blue color to be dramatic, and presents very elegantly. Comes with a high quality copper-wired display stand.
